Hello Friend.
I m Here with new Topic. In the previous post, I told you the Difference b/w Router, Hub, and Switch.
Today, We will know the Difference b/w Router and Modem.
Friend, Before setting up a home Wi-Fi network, We should know exactly what kind of equipment we need. Basically, we need two devices: A Modem that brings internet into your house and other one is Router that Direct that internet connection To all the connected devices like Computers, Tablets, mobile etc. These two devices worked together to make your web wonderful.

What a Modem Does:- 

A Modem is a device that brings the internet into our house. A Modem is a hardware device that allows a computer to send and receive data over a satellite connection or a telephone line or a cable connection. in other words, Modem serves as a bridge b/w our local network and the Internet.

What a Router Does:-

A Router is a networking Device that lets you share your modem's Internet connection with all your electronic devices. We used Ethernet cable for the connection of modem and Router so that we will able to pass the internet connection to the other devices.In addition, Router offers us some protection to our device over being exposed directly to the internet. For the internet, All the traffic coming from our house look like it is coming from a single device.

Combination of Modem-Router:-

Some ISPs offer a modem and router in a single device. That device is designed to do both functions, acting as a modem to communicate with ISPs and functioning as a router to create a home network but these devices have some disadvantages. Using separate Devices are provide more flexibility with your network. we can also update each device more frequently so you can always have the newest router with the latest Technologies and also provide us the fast network available.

In the closing statement, We can say that Router and modem are usually Two separate devices but some companies offer it in single Device. this type of Hybrid devices is sometimes offered by ISPs to simplify the Setup Process.
